AFRICAN POWER! during WOMEN Inc. Festival 2010

Saturday 6 March

Westergasfabriek Amsterdam

On 6 March WOMEN Inc. organises her third international WOMEN Inc. Festival in Amsterdam. An impressive list of national and international groundbreaking women will give their vision on various women's issues. Next to in-depth discussions and speeddate sessions, you can enjoy music, spoken word, film, fashion shows and a bazaar.

AFRICAN POWER!

For this years' Festival powerful African (diaspora) women have been invited to tell their stories.  They have been very successful in putting women's rights on the agenda in their home countries. With peace activist Etweda Cooper (Liberian Women's Initiative), Ghada Abdel Aal (the Egyptian Bridget Jones), Sophia Abdi Noor (member of parliament in Kenya), Fatou Bensouda (Gambia, Deputy Prosecutor International Criminal Court in The Hague), Sahro Ahmed Koshin (young Somalian expert on gender issues) and  Dahlila Shirwa (young Somalian DJ).
Participate in the Talkshow African Power!, where Daphne Bunskoek will interview them on their drive and ability to mobilize others. Go see the movie Pray the Devil Back to Hell and join the Q&A with one of the movie stars Etweda Cooper.  Go listen to DJ Dahlila. Have a cup of Ethiopian coffee with the African power women on the bazaar!
